Asha Kamenge is a distinguished financial services leader and digital transformation expert with over 30 years of experience across Africa’s banking and fintech sectors. She is widely recognized as a visionary change agent, advancing inclusive finance, innovation, and operational excellence through strong leadership and governance.
Seconded by Financial Sector Deepening (FSD) Kenya, Asha serves as the Project Director for SACCO Central Kenya, where she is leading the establishment of a Shared Services Innovation Hub - a national public digital infrastructure designed to modernize core banking systems, expand omni-channel access, enable direct participation in the National Payments System, and introduce central liquidity facilities for over 450 regulated SACCOs.
Asha has held senior leadership roles in leading banks and fintech ventures, where she spearheaded nationally scaled digital products, forged strategic partnerships, and strengthened institutional resilience. She has also co-founded and advised fintech ventures, successfully attracting investment and delivering sustainability-focused financial solutions.
Her leadership excellence has been recognized through multiple Think Business Innovation Awards and the Standard Bank Mark of Excellence Award. She brings strong global exposure through executive training and affiliations with institutions including Oxford Saïd Business School, Henley Business School, Global PMI, SAFe, and the Retail Banking Academy (London).
Asha holds a Master of Arts in Innovation & Change from York St John University (UK) and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning at Walsh University (USA).
