Mandate

The Business and Technical Advisory Council (BTAC) advises the Board of Directors through the Technical advisor on business & operations, and Technical advisor on technology matters affecting member SACCOs and SCK’s shared services.

Composition

The Council comprises of nine (9) members drawn from Chief Executive Officers of member SACCOs not represented on the SCK Board. Membership reflects diversity in SACCO size and sector. The Council elects a Chair and Vice Chair from among its members. The Project Director (in attendance) will attend the reviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on relevance and adequacy of SCK’s products and services to member SACCO needs.
• Recommend standardization of procedures and pricing.
• Appraise SCK’s business model, sustainability, and going-concern considerations.
• Provide insights on industry trends and innovation opportunities.
• Review and advise on major technology investments and projects.
• Periodically assess ICT security, data privacy, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Make recommendations to the Board on strategic business and technology matters.
